Our story
Rice's Concrete Services started as a one-man pumping operation in 1979. Jim Rice was doing concrete pumping work in South Florida before most of the neighborhoods here existed. The company has grown and changed names along the way, but the approach hasn't.
We're still family-owned, still Broward County licensed, and still doing the work ourselves. No brokering jobs out to whoever's available. The same crew, the same standards, 47 years running.

Company history
Rice's started in 1979 as a concrete pumping service — the original name was Rice's Concrete Pumping Service. The Florida construction market in the late seventies was growing fast and pump truck operators who could place concrete in tight spots were in demand. That's where Jim Rice built the foundation of the business.
In 1980, the business was formally incorporated. Through the eighties and nineties, the company expanded into full flatwork and forming — driveways, slabs, tiebeams, patios — alongside the pumping work that started it all. By the time South Florida's construction cycle picked back up after the 2008 slowdown, Rice's had the crew and equipment to handle any size job in the market.
In 2005, the company reincorporated as Rice's Concrete Services, Inc. — a name that better reflected the full scope of work we were doing. The license, the address and the people stayed the same.
Today the company remains under the same ownership and operates out of Deerfield Beach. We hold an active Broward County contractor license and carry all required insurance. The service area covers all of Broward County and Palm Beach County.

How we operate
Every job that requires a permit gets one. We don't ask you to pull it yourself and we don't skip it. County inspection sign-off is part of the job.
We don't broker your job to a subcontractor and take a cut. The people who give you the estimate are the people who pour your concrete.
Broward County License #02-10427-CP. General liability and workers' comp coverage current. We can provide certificates on request.
Based in Deerfield Beach. We know the soil conditions, the drainage requirements, and the permit offices across both counties. This isn't a franchise operation.
We walk the site before we quote. No guessing from a photo. The price we give you is the price for the job as we understand it — if the scope changes, we tell you before we pour.
Concrete has a working window. We don't miss pours. If we're on your schedule, we're there when we said we'd be.
Credentials
Broward County Contractor License #02-10427-CP has been active since the early days of the company. We maintain general liability insurance and workers' compensation coverage and can provide certificates of insurance for general contractors and property owners who need them.
All work requiring a building permit is submitted and inspected through the applicable county or municipal building department. We've pulled permits in Broward and Palm Beach County municipalities many times over. It's part of how we do business, not an add-on.
